# Close/Reject options - add, remove and configure

The **Reject** button and the **"X"** options for the Cookie banner are optional and can be set or removed from there as explained below:

# Reject button

To **manage the showing** of the 'Reject' button on the cookie banner, follow these steps:

1. Go to the **Cookie banner** tab

2. Open the **Behavior** section

3. In the **Cookie banner behavior** you have several **options for showing the Reject button** in the cookie banner **in combination with other buttons** as well:

* Accept / Reject / Preferences - **Recommended**

* Accept / Reject

* Reject only

More on the configuration can also be checked below:

* [How to set a Reject button on the Cookie banner?](/en/article/how-to-set-a-reject-button-on-the-cookie-bar-1btfuyq/)

||| Please note that the 'Reject' button is programmed to refuse all categories of cookies, except those that are strictly necessary for the website to function. This default setting is intentional and remains consistent irrespective of the initial configuration of the cookie banner, ensuring that necessary site functions remain unaffected by a user's choice to reject cookies.

# X (close) icon

There is also an option from which the visitors of the store can interact (close) the cookie banner.

To **manage the showing** of the **X (close) icon** button on the cookie banner, follow these steps.

* **Cookie banner** tab

* **Behavior** section

* In the **Banner interface controls** toggle ${color}[#48a037](On) **or** ${color}[#da1b1b](Off )the **Show close icon** option, depending on your preferences

|| The behavior of the X (close) button is configurable only in the Plus and Enterprise plans. For the Free and Standard users, once enabled it will only allow the Necessary cookies!
