# 🔧 Advanced Widget Behavior Settings

The **Consentmo ADA Accessibility Widget** comes with **several behavior customization options** to help merchants fine-tune how and when the widget appears for users.

You can find them in the **Behavior** section of the **Web Accessibility tab**.

**Here's what each setting does:**

#### 🚹 Accessibility Modes

The Accessibility modes allow the webpage visitor to select a predefined profile as per their accessibility needs.

They can choose between the following options:

* Motor impairment
* Color blindness
* Cognitive focus
* Visual impairment
* Epileptic save
* ADHD friendly

Each profile, when selected, will automatically enable the options from the accessibility widget most suitable in accordance with the impairment of the visitor.

Here is also a reference on how it can be enabled and used:

#### 🖥️ **Large menu Mode**

Enable **Large Menu Mode** to enlarge the Accessibility Menu on desktop devices.

This mode increases the **text size** and **container dimensions** inside the widget, making all accessibility tools easier to read and interact with — especially for users with **low vision** or **reading difficulties**.

When activated, the **widget interface automatically adjusts** its layout for\*\* improved legibility, spacing, and visibility\*\* of all available options.

💡 **Tip:** Recommended for merchants who want to enhance accessibility for desktop visitors and ensure compliance with **WCAG 2.2** readability and usability guidelines.

#### 🈹 Widget Language

In the **Behavior** tab of the **Web accessibility** section, you can find the option for enabling the multilingual setup for the widget as well.

* You can **enable it and also set the detection method** for the languages, so it can show in the correct one, depending on the store version the visitor is currently at.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/0/7/f/b07f7406951a4000/ada-app-languages_1gajr6s.png)

|| The recommended option, if you are using a 3rd party app for your store translations is the "From store language(locale)".

* Once enabled, it will **automatically detect the languages** you have **published in the store**, form the admin settings, as shown here:

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/0/7/f/b07f7406951a4000/ada-languages_1mtvdfi.png)
In the widget, there will still be a menu with the most popular languages worldwide, and the visitor can change it from there as well if needed.

The option will show on top of the widget settings, once enabled:

#### 👁️‍🗨️ **Widget Position & Visibility (Hiding options)**

The option gives the visitor the **option to move the widget box** to the either **right or the left side** of the screen.

It also adds a **“Hide widget”** button to the widget, giving users the freedom to remove the widget from view if they don’t need it.

They have the **option** to **hide it for a week, a month or permanently**.

 Ideal for a cleaner UI experience after initial interaction, while still maintaining compliance transparency.

#### 🫣 **Initial visibility - Hide Widget Until Activated**

With this setting enabled, the widget remains hidden by default and **only appears when a user activates it** (e.g., via keyboard shortcut).

 Useful for stores with minimalistic designs who want to offer accessibility tools without visual clutter.

[![](https://gdprstorage.b-cdn.net/faq/gif/ADA-hide-until-active.gif)](https://gdprstorage.b-cdn.net/faq/gif/ADA-hide-until-active.gif)

#### ⌨️ **Enable Keyboard Shortcut**

Allow users to open the accessibility widget by pressing the **Tab** key on their keyboard. This improves usability for keyboard-dependent users and is especially useful for screen reader navigation.

💡 Recommended for stores that aim to provide full keyboard accessibility compliance under **WCAG** standards.

**Below you can also check** a reference on **how the Tab key on the keyboard**, when pressed, i**s opening the different options for the visitors:**

#### ®️ **Powered by Consentmo**

Toggle the visibility of the **“Powered by Consentmo”** label on your widget.
 You can choose to keep your branding clean or highlight that you're using a **trusted accessibility solution**.

![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/b/0/7/f/b07f7406951a4000/ada-powered-by_aqq2tp.png)

These options are available under **Web Accessibility > Widget Behavior** in the app. Merchants can preview changes in real-time and combine these settings to create the most inclusive experience possible - without sacrificing store aesthetics.
