There is a feature lets you display a message to visitors after they confirm their opt-out preference.

Where to find it?

To enable this feature, please follow the steps here:

1. Go to the Cookie banner tab

2. Open the Behavior page

3. Find the USA Opt-out Signals section

4. Turn on the toggle and save the changes.

How it works?

The Show opt-out confirmation feature displays a message to visitors after they confirm their opt-out preference.

This lets users know that their request has been successfully applied and that their privacy choice is respected.

This feature is designed to help merchants comply with U.S. privacy regulations by clearly informing users that their opt-out request has been honored.

When this option is enabled, the confirmation message appears on the cookie banner and inside the privacy preferences popup once the opt-out action is completed.

If the option is turned off, the opt-out will still work normally, but no confirmation message will be shown.

Customizing the confirmation message

You can customize the message shown to visitors in the Message when a user confirms their preference field.

This allows you to adjust the wording to match your store’s tone or compliance requirements.

Once saved, the updated message will be displayed after a visitor confirms their opt-out preference.

Additional Note: Behavior when Global Privacy Control (GPC) is enabled

Note: If the Global Privacy Control (GPC) integration is enabled in the Consentmo app and a visitor’s browser sends a GPC signal, the visitor’s opt-out preference is automatically respected.

In this scenario:

• The opt-out will be applied automatically, without requiring the visitor to interact with the cookie banner.

• No “Opt-Out” button will be displayed on the cookie banner for that visitor.

• The store will automatically treat the visitor as opted-out of the sale or sharing of personal data, in accordance with the GPC signal.

This behavior ensures compliance with privacy regulations that recognize the GPC signal as a valid request to opt-out of data selling or sharing.
