Explicit vs Implied consent
Explicit consent
Recommended
By default, the behavior set in the app is for the cookie banner to be shown on each page until the visitor has clicked on any of the buttons on the banner.
That is also known as requiring explicit consent from your visitors before you can track them on your webpage.
That is the GDPR recommended way of having your cookie banner work as per the law requirements
Implied consent
Use with caution
There is also the option in our app to change this behavior to Implied consent.
This means that different actions of the visitor in the store can be considered as giving consent.
You have the option to set the Implied consent for the store visitors in the following ways:
- By default there is an "outside click" option enabled for the functionality.
Any clicks outside the banner or anywhere on the page will imply consent.
- Page scroll - if you have this one enabled, a consent will be set in the given session, once the visitor scroll for more than 20% of the page
- Page refresh - a consent will be registered if this one is enabled if the visitor navigate to another page of the store or refresh the one they are currently viewing
IMPORTANT ⚠️ - Implied consent usage
- If you are certain that the customer privacy laws as per the regions where you are operating allow the usage of the Implied consent, we would also recommend having the cookie banner content changed accordingly.
You can use the following text content if the Implied consent is enabled:
"By continuing to use our website, you agree to our Privacy Policy and the use of cookies for a better browsing experience."
The content can be added to the cookie banner as per this guide:
