GCM V2 customization options
Due to the various needs of each merchant when it comes to gathering the right data to enhance your marketing and collecting as much data as possible via the analytics in your store, we have implemented an option which you can use in order to change the way the consent parameters are set in the dataLayer.
The option for this customization is available for all of the paid plans users (Standard, Plus and Enterprise) and can be found in the Integrations tab > Services tracking > Google Consent Mode V2 section.
Once you scroll down, you will get to the Customize integration script section, you can check the available options for triggering the different parameters in the dataLayer, according to the choice the visitor is making via the cookie bar.
As you can see in the above reference, for example, you can set the parameters in the dataLayer which are usually set to granted upon acceptance of a certain cookie group, to change their status by regarding the choice of the visitor for any other cookie group as well.
The parameters which are activated by the acceptance of the marketing cookies, can be set to be activated from the acceptance of the Analytics cookies group instead, and so on.
There is also an option for enabling or disabling the url_passthrough and ads_data_redaction from the dataLayer, depending on your preferences and needs.
From the Rename the dataLayer property section you can also set a name for the dataLayer in which you need the customized option to be shown, in case you are using a 3rd party app for the tracking in the store that requires this. Otherwise, we do not recommend for the name of the dataLayer to be changed.
In the Checkout integration part, you also have the option to enable the GCM V2 integration to run on the checkout pages as well. There is a link for the guide on how this can be set, as well as an option for turning it on.
In need of any assistance with the setup, do not hesitate to drop us a line at support@consentmo.com or via our Live chat.
