Consent log - Monthly reports backup

Recently, we introduced the option for one-time and recurring backups of the data we gather on the cookie bar interactions from your visitors in the Consent Log tab - Policy Acceptances / Data Subject Requests / Deletion Requests.

The first step is to sign in with Google, for us to be able to access your Google Drive and back up the data there. This can be done by clicking the button > Back up the table and pressing the first button > Authenticate with Google Drive. After the authentication is successful, you should see a new folder in the home folder of your Google Drive named Consentmo GDPR Compliance - Consent Log Exports. All of the backup files will be stored there.

The first backup option is for a One-time backup of the data. This will back up all of the data that is available (for the past 12 months). Within a few minutes, you should receive the backup file in the Google Drive folder.

The Recurring table backup is another way of backing up automatically the data for the selected table. On the first day of each month, you will receive a file in the Google Drive folder containing all of the records for the past month. This option is individual for each table, meaning that you can have this enabled for the Policy Acceptances, but disabled for Data Subject Requests and Deletion Requests.

The last option is to specify another Google Drive folder if you would like to receive the backup files in another location. Just specify the full path to the Drive folder and the files will be set there (make sure to copy this from the browser directly to ensure you have the correct folder path).

Regardless of which option you will be using, the One-time backup or the Recurring backup, every time a report file is send to the Google Drive folder, you will also receive a confirmation email, at the admin email of the store by default.

The information from the reports that you can back-up using this feature, can be useful for future reference on your acceptance rates and traffic stats. As the stats are only saved on our end for a year, and then are erased from our data base, due to the law requirements on handling such data.

If you need any further assistance or have any questions on the backup feature, do not hesitate to drop us a line at support@consentmo.com. We are here for you!
