Compliance Center - Checklist for GDPR compliance

Below you can find the most important things that you need to make sure are set for your store in order to comply with the GDPR law requirements.

They are also listed in the Settings tab > Compliance Center section of the app:



Below you can also check some details that can help you set each point correctly.

Cookie Banner



Once you hit this option in the Cookie banner tab > Content section, you can first make sure that the text of the cookie banner is informative enough.

The default one we have set from the app is designed to meet this requirement.

If you feel like there is more information that needs to be added that the visitor needs to be aware of, you can also add this manually.

Also, make sure the cookie banner is visible in all regions where you operate and sell.

These will be the regions where the privacy settings of the store will apply.

Part of this step is to also make sure that the cookie banner is visible and "appealing" enough so the visitor can see and check the information for the usage of cookies.

Preferences Menu



In this step, you need to make sure that the visitors have the option to manage their selection and have the granular consent for cookie categories enabled.

This means that in the cookie banner, you should enable the Preferences button.

You can do this from the Cookie banner tab > Behavior section:



Another way of ensuring this without having the Preferences button added is to set the Dialog view.

This way, regardless of the button configuration, there is always an option for the visitor to manage their choice.

Re-Open Consent Option



You can also set this so the visitors can change their cookie choice at any time.

It is recommended to have such an option for your visitors so you can comply with the law requirements.

Allow users to withdraw/adjust consent via a visible 'Manage Consent' button by enabling the Privacy Widget from the app.

Google Consent Mode v2 Integration



This can easily be set from the Integrations tab of the app > Google Consent Mode V2 section.

There you can set the Automated integration as well as detailed instructions on the setup from the installation & set up instructions link.



Data Subject Rights Mechanism



Here you need to make sure that you provide a process for users to exercise their GDPR rights.

Meaning, to honor their right to manage, delete, and receive the data that is collected and stored for them.

Ad compliance



In this section you can make sure that the tracking services related to Ads and Marketing are also fully integrated with Consentmo and are respecting the choice the visitor makes via the cookie banner.

The most popular services are the ones for the Meta/Instagram and TikTok ads tracking.

In the Integrations section of the app, in the pages for each service, you can find the instructions on how they can be set for compliance and integration with our app.

Final check



Once you go through all of the steps from the list, you can also double-check if all is set correctly with our support team via the live chat option at the bottom right of the app or at support@consentmo.com.

The easiest way to reach out to our support is by hitting the Check Compliance option on top of the Dashboard tab of the app.
