Google Drive Backup for Consent records and Data requests

In our app, you have the option for recurring backups of the data we gather on the cookie bar interactions from your visitors in the Cookie management tab - Consent Records and for the Customer data requests they submit, as well.

How to set it

The first thing you need to do is to go to the Cookie management tab and open either the Consent Records or Customer data requests section

In the sections you will see the Enable Google Drive Backup option on top of the table

After that, you will be redirected to the setup page for the service in the Integration tab > Google Drive Backup section:

Once you are there, Enable the functionality and address the Authenticate with Google Drive process, as shown below:

After the authentication is successful, you should see a new folder in the home section of your Google Drive named Consentmo GDPR Compliance - Consent Log Exports.

All of the backup files will be stored there:

Available backup options

The first backup option is to select the period for which the backup should recur for:

In the next sections you have the option to also select which tables the recurring backup should apply for:

>> Recurring consent records backup

>> Recurring customer data requests backup

The last option is to specify another Google Drive folder if you would like to receive the backup files in another location.

Just specify the full path to the Drive folder and the files will be set there. Make sure to copy this from the browser directly to ensure you have the correct folder path.

Backing up records from previous periods

If you also want to have a record for past periods, before enabling the Google Drive backup, please refer to the guides here:

Confirmation for the backup

Every time a report file is sent to the Google Drive folder, you will also receive a confirmation email at the admin email of the store by default.

The information from the reports that you can backup using this feature can be useful for future reference on your acceptance rates and traffic stats.

As the stats are only saved on our end for a year and then are erased from our database due to the law requirements on handling such data.
