How to Connect Consentmo to Claude, ChatGPT, and Muse

Connect Consentmo to Claude, ChatGPT, and Muse

Consentmo's AI integrations let you connect your store data with Claude, ChatGPT, or Muse and ask questions about your privacy and consent setup directly from the AI assistant.

Once connected, you can ask about areas such as:

  • Compliance health
  • Cookie and tracker status
  • Consent rates
  • Privacy requests
  • Countries where your cookie banner is displayed
  • Issues that may need your attention

Plan availability: The Claude, ChatGPT, and Muse integrations are available from the Standard plan.

How the AI Integrations Work

The integrations connect Consentmo to the selected AI assistant through an MCP connection.

The connection is read-only. The AI assistant can access supported Consentmo information to answer your questions, but it cannot:

  • Change your Consentmo settings
  • Modify your cookie banner configuration
  • Access customer email addresses

Once you approve the connection, its status in Consentmo changes to Enabled automatically.

Where to Find the Integrations

  1. Open the Consentmo GDPR app.
  2. Go to Integrations.
  3. Scroll to the AI assistants section.
  4. Select:
    • Claude
    • ChatGPT
    • Muse
  5. Follow the setup instructions for your preferred assistant.

Before You Connect

Each integration uses the Consentmo MCP connection:

https://app.consentmo.com/mcp

During setup, Consentmo also generates a temporary connection key.

Important: The key works only once and expires after 15 minutes.

If necessary, you can generate a new key. Resetting the key does not disconnect an assistant that has already been connected.

Disabling the integration will disconnect it.

Connect Consentmo to Claude

1. Open the Claude integration

Go to:

Consentmo → Integrations → Claude

2. Add Consentmo as a connector in Claude

In Claude:

  1. Open Customize.
  2. Go to Connectors.
  3. Select Add.
  4. Choose Add custom connector.
  5. Name the connector Consentmo.
  6. Enter:

https://app.consentmo.com/mcp

  1. Keep the default options and select Add.

3. Authorize the connection

Back in Consentmo:

  1. Click Create key.
  2. Copy the generated key.

Then return to Claude and click Connect for the Consentmo connector.

A Consentmo authorization page will open.

Paste the generated key and approve the connection.

Once approved, the Claude integration in Consentmo will automatically switch to Enabled.

Here is also a quick guide on the process:

Connect Consentmo to ChatGPT

1. Open the ChatGPT integration

Go to:

Consentmo → Integrations → ChatGPT

2. Create the connection in ChatGPT

In ChatGPT:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Plugins.
  3. Turn on Developer mode.
  4. Select the + button.
  5. Choose Create app.
  6. Select Create MCP app.
  7. Name the app Consentmo.
  8. Add the following URL to the Connection field:

https://app.consentmo.com/mcp

  1. Finish creating the connection.

3. Authorize Consentmo

Back in Consentmo:

  1. Click Create key.
  2. Copy the generated key.

Complete the connection in ChatGPT.

When the Consentmo authorization page opens, paste the key and approve the connection.

The integration will automatically show as Enabled in Consentmo once authorization is complete.

Here is also a short guide on the process:

Connect Consentmo to Muse

1. Open the Muse integration

Go to:

Consentmo → Integrations → Muse

A Muse account is required. Muse may not currently be available in every country.

2. Start a new Muse chat

Open Muse and start a new conversation.

Send the following message:

Add Consentmo as a custom MCP connector:
https://app.consentmo.com/mcp
Send me the sign-in link so I can approve it.

Muse will provide a sign-in link for the Consentmo connection.

3. Authorize the connection

Back in Consentmo:

  1. Click Create key.
  2. Copy the generated key.
  3. Open the sign-in link provided by Muse.
  4. Paste the key into the Consentmo authorization page.
  5. Approve the connection.

Once approved, the Muse integration will automatically switch to Enabled.

Try Asking Your AI Assistant

Once connected, you can start asking questions about your Consentmo setup.

For example:

  • How is my store doing on privacy?
  • How many of my trackers are still uncategorized?
  • Which countries see my cookie banner?
  • What should I fix first?

The available answers depend on the Consentmo data accessible through the integration.

Managing the Connection

Each AI integration page shows its current connection status.

Not connected

The assistant has not yet been authorized.

Follow the setup instructions and approve the Consentmo connection.

Enabled

The connection has been approved and the assistant can access the supported Consentmo data.

Resetting the key

If your temporary key expires or has already been used, generate a new one.

Creating a new key does not disconnect an assistant that has already been authorized.

Disabling the integration

If you no longer want the AI assistant connected to Consentmo, disable the integration.

Unlike resetting a key, disabling the integration disconnects the assistant.

Privacy and Access

The Claude, ChatGPT, and Muse connections are designed as read-only integrations.

The assistant can use supported Consentmo information to answer questions, but it cannot make changes to your app configuration.

It also cannot access customer email addresses through the integration.
