Simprosys Google Shopping Feed integration for Consentmo GDPR app

The Simprosys Google Shopping Feed app is not officially integrated with our solution, however, there is a way for both services to run asynchronously in your store and work in accordance with the visitor’s consent given via the Cookie bar.

Simprosys settings

The solution Simphosys offers is a system where you can integrate multiple tracking services in one place and manage them there.

As per the regulations which the customer privacy laws are enforcing for not collecting any data before the visitor/customer consents for this, respectively have all the tracking services blocked initially.

You can set this by first navigating to the dashboard of the Simphosys Google Shopping Feed > Tracking Tags tab > Access any of the Social Media tags settings (if you do not have tags set there, you can check with the support of the Simprosys app, for another way to access these settings). At the bottom of the page, you will see a Must Read section, where point 5. from it is stating:

“Does your Online store need to Comply with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation(GDPR) Act for Tracking your Customer’s Details? If Yes, Kindly Enable Limit Tracking For Customers from HERE.”

Once you hit the “HERE” link, you will be redirected to a “GDPR Compliance Settings” page where you can tick the options for “Collect Data only after Customer's consent” and save the changes.

Note: If you are already using our app and the GCM V2 integration provided from Consentmo, as per the guide below, please make sure that the Consent Mode integration from the "Simprosys Google Shopping Feed" is turned Off, as it may lead to conflicts and not accurate data for the tracking services in the store. Please refer to the location of the GCM in the Simprosys settings below:

Additional setup

All of the above needs to be synchronized with the settings in Shopify and our app as well. Meaning you need to set there the following:

1. Navigate to your Shopify Admin > Settings > Customer Privacy >and in Cookie banner section, you will be able to select which regions you wish the data for your visitors to be collected after they consent for this via the Cookie bar in your store.

Once you access the Cookie banner section you will have the option to Edit this list, and select the Recommended EU+EEA countries and add more locations there if needed, in which you want the data collection to be Collected after consent.

NOTE: For users that have the Consentmo app installed after 12/12/2024, please follow these steps instead.

Navigate to the Settings tab of our app

Open the Geolocation section.

Choose the regions where you want the cookie bar to be displayed for and data to be collected only after consent and Save the changes.

After 12 December 2024 our app is already integrated with the Shopify API which allow you to set the regions where you need the Shopify Customer Privacy settings applied, to be set directly from the app settings.

The update is applicable for installation made after the above date only.

In addition to that you also need to change the initial state of the cookie groups in our app settings from the Consent banner tab > Behavior section > Initial State Of The Cookie Bar for all the cookie groups to be blocked initially, as shown below:

In need of assistance with this, you can always reach out to our support team at support@consentmo.com.
